Southwest London Competitive Soccer Club
.
Southwest is one of the founding soccer clubs in the London area. Our club has a long history of success both on and off the field. Our teams have won many league championships, tournaments and Challenge Cups. Most importantly though, all of our coaches believe that the first priority is to ensure that each player is given every chance to improve their skills, their sense of teamwork and most of all to have fun playing "The Beautiful Game".
.
Teams are formed through competitive try-outs. It should be noted that equal playing time is NOT guaranteed. Team policy varies and should be discussed with the coach before signing your player card.

For all competitive teams, a higher level of dedication is expected. There are a number of levels of play which are summarized below. Generally, the higher the level the more dedication is required. At a minimum, most teams will have 2-3 events per week, will enter 2-3 tournaments on weekends throughout the summer, and will facilitate fitness and skills training to be done on your own time.

All teams will have additional costs above registration, for tournaments or festivals, special training or apparel. These should be discussed with the team coach before trying out.

Season runs from Early May to mid September.

Mini (U8-U12)

Is the "grassroots" level of soccer and where children are introduced to the game. Southwest follows the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) vision and policies as prescribed by the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA), ensuring this first experience is fun and enjoyable and revolves around child-friendly soccer.

Tier 2 (formerly L6)
Is the first level of competition above Mini. Teams play in the Elgin Middlessex District Soccer League (EMDSL), against teams from the London area. Typically a division will have a number of London based teams as well as several from places like St. Thomas, Woodstock, Chatham, St. Mary's or Sarnia.

Tier 1 (formerly L5)
Is a level above Recreational. Teams at this level would typically have an additional practice session per week. Teams play in the Elgin Middlessex District Soccer League (EMDSL). The divisions tend to have more teams from outlying areas, therefore more travel may, but not always, be required. Typically a division will have a number of London based teams as well as teams from Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, St. Thomas, Woodstock, Chatham, St. Mary's or Sarnia.

Regional (formerly L3)
The highest level of play available in London. Teams play in the Western Region Soccer League. Weekly travel in Southwestern Ontario is to be expected. Players and parents should be prepared for a significant commitment in time and effort.

Women's (LAWSL)
Southwest has two teams in the adult Women's soccer league: the Storm who play in Division 3 and the FC who play at the Premier level.
